Parviz Kimiavi
1972 Iran 27 minutes Persian

Aseyed Ali Mirza leads a secluded life, but is also interested in the education of the local children. He uses gestures in order to teach them the alphabet. Whenever he tries to demonstrate the letter ‘P’, however, the children make fun of the poor old man. One day, one of the children gives the word ‘pelican’ as an example of the letter ‘p’, and challenges Aseyed Ali Mirza to venture out of his seclusion and see pelicans for himself.
