The question has been asked for some years now – what value do we attach to the time and place of dying ? Families geographically dislocated, crowded apartments… seventy percent of the French die in hospital, but how many of them have a friendly hand to hold in their last moments ? The film shows the routine in the first French intensive care unit in Paris’Cité Universitaire hospital. Comments from the ailing, their near and dear, hospital personnel and volunteers. They all talk of respect, dignity and love.
