Printemps à La Source
At Epinay-sur -Seine, Ali’s grocery has been forgotten in the renovation work carried out on the housing estate, and is the only store still open in the now derelict shopping centre. The old ladies can still walk there and the kids are always welcome. In fact, people go there as much for a bit of human warmth as anything else-to have a chat, to listen to Ali playing the guitar or the tambourine and, if need be, to ask for help as he always comes up with a good idea: a bit of advice on how to fill in a form, a bit of cash in exchange for a cheque… Yet, as one spring follows another… resistance has its limits.
