Filmmaker, journalist, actor, photographer and unemployed, Amet Diallo was 41 years old and lived in Senegal. One October evening, after leaving the Jazz-Club he animated, he collapsed in a Dakar street stricken by an asthma attack. This could be the brief description on an ID fact sheet. But, in fact, Amet was a great deal more than that’ “Amet was a free man and did exactly as he pleased and even in this case, he didn’t ask for permission'”, says his friend Willy. The next day’s Sun called it “the end clap”. For me, it was the starting clap’ The start of a process, the start of a search, the start of a film'” (Laurence Attali)
