Alassane Diago

Alassane Diago was born in 1985 in Agnam Lidoubé, a Fulani village located in the northeast of Senegal. Passionate about writing, he writes and studies philosophy in Dakar but his dream is to become a director. He took part in the filming of several films including Lili et le Baobab by Chantal Richard in 2004 and took audiovisual training at the Media Center in Dakar, where he graduated as a versatile audiovisual technician. Les Larmes de l’émigration, his first feature documentary made in 2010, received the Prize for Best Documentary, the Casa Africa Prize at the Tarifa African Film Festival (Spain) and the Prize for Best Documentary at the Festival international du Film Francophone de Namur (Belgium).
