Bruno Monsaingeon
1988 France 52 minutes French; English; Russian

“One fine day in mid-August 1987, after a year of agonising silence, came the long awaited reply from the highest Soviet authorities : Yehudi Menuhin was invited to the Soviet Union. Everything had to be organised (…). I had to think about what I was going to do, how I was going to give the film solid from, dramatic construction, emotion and cinematographic expression (…)”. (Bruno Monsaingeon, October 1988) The film, the first in three episodes, describes the musical encounter between Yehudi Menuhin and conductor Guennadi Rojdestvensky.
