In Brussels, a Palestinian, a Dagestani, an Icelander and a Frenchwoman engage in various performances based on age-old stories – particularly Christian ones – whose imagery has permeated Western culture. These borrowed words and gestures give rise to personal accounts of each person’s relationship to their native environment and culture, from which they have deliberately become estranged, although never completely.
