Sarzan

The film relates the return of a “Sarzan” (a Colonial Army sergeant) to his home country after 15 years’ service under the French flag. Completely out of touch with his society and its traditions and motivated by the wish to “civilise”, he attacks his tribal ancestors by desecrating their altars. They take revenge by driving him out of his mind.
