The Connection

Shirley Clarke
1961 United States 90 minutes English
DR

In a Manhatttan apartment, eight junkies are waiting for their “connection” to bring them the goods. So as to be able to pay for the goods, they have agreed to be filmed in exchange for a certain amount of money. When their supplier arrives with the heroin, they manage to convince the film director to try the drug, so that, as they claim, he will have a deeper understanding of what he is filming.
