The Last Great Chief of Davis

Yasuko Ichioka
1982 Japan 73 minutes undetermined

Memories of the great chief of Davis, in New Guinea. An evocation and reconstitution, by those of the tribe alive today, of the life of his people since 1930: the salient events of their history (scenes of war, abductions of women, domestic thefts, burials, bartering) are interspersed with scenes of everyday life.
