A moving portrait of a young boxer, made for television. Shot in synchronised sound with minimal lighting equipment, this is the first example of direct cinema on TV.

Né à Brooklyn en 1909, mort à New York en 1991. Après des études de cinéma, il rejoint la Film and Photo League (Paul Strand, Ralph Steiner…) en 1931 puis Nikino et Film Frontier. Chef opérateur, monteur, il a aussi été enseignant et rédacteur à la revue New Theater.
