In Rikers island, a prison in New York, a group of detainees create, based on improvisations, an original play “Straight from the ghetto”, inspired by their life in prison and in the black and hispanic ghettos of New York. This video film retraces their work, their three months of rehearsals in work-shops and their first performance.
