In the Horie suburbian district of Tokyo, the Nihon Kagaku Kogyon (Japan Chemicals) Company had rejected huge quantities of chromion waste before bills were passed in1971 regarding industrial waste. Former workers have organized to spread information about the toxic effects of chromion and their working conditions prior to 1971.
