The mirror is cruel and flaunts her fatigue, her poverty, her solitude and her situation as a beggar. The price of love. “I’m a victim of love. I was used to a life of plenty, I cried so hard the first day I went begging.” The mirror is also generous and reflects youth’s beauty and health, the happy moments of abundance, times when love’s victim was the high priestess of French army brothels in Indochina, where the monies paid by the Moroccan fusiliers did not preclude the favours of French officers. Dalila Ennadre est née en 1966 à Casablanca. Après avoir grandi à Paris, elle va séjourner successivement, de 1985 à 1996, en Guyane, Allemagne, Maroc et Canada.
De formation autodidacte, elle réalise ses premiers documentaires à Montréal (Par la grâce d’Allah en 1987 et Idoles dans l’ombre en 1992).
De retour à Paris en 1996, elle y réalise entre autres
El Batalett, Femmes de la médina (2000), La caravane de Mé Aïcha (2002) et Je voudrais vous raconter (2005).
