Federica Di Giacomo
Born in La Spezia. She graduated from the University of Florence in anthropology. In 1999 she attained a MA degree on European Creative Documentary at the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. Since 2000 she has been creating documentaries for Raisat Cinema and other broadcasters. Her documentary Il lato grottesco della vita won the CIPPUTI and Avanti award at Turin film Festival 2006, and “best documentary” at Etno film fest 2007. her last documentary Housing, was selected at Hotdocs Toronto and Locarno, Turin, Copenaghen, Thessaloniky, and Reykyavik Film Festivals.
She has been working with Sacher films of Nanni Moretti for a collective documentary. She has been teaching documentary master at La Sapienza University of Rome. With the script of Set me free, she won the Solinas award for the best documentary script of 2014.
