Francesca Comencini

Francesca Comencini studied philosophy. She collaborated with her father Luigi on the screenplay of A Child of Calabria (1987) and directed her first feature film, Pianoforte, in 1984, which was followed by The Light of the Lake (1989) and Annabelle Shared (1991). She directed a portrait of Elsa Morante (1995) for the series “Un siècle d’écrivains”. Among her other fiction films: Le parole di mio padre (2001), Mi piace lavorare (2004), Lo spazio bianco (2009), Un giorno speciale (2012), Amori che non sanno stare al mondo (2017). Also noted for her documentaries, Carlo Giuliani, ragazzo (2002), In fabbrica (2007), she co-directed in 2014 the series Gomorra.
