Monastiraki

A lyrical documentary on Monastiraki, a neighbourhood in Athens where ancient monuments (Classical, Byzantine, Ottoman) coexist alongside small workshops and many antique shops. Gay Angelis, who played an active role in editing the influential Greek film periodical Film, embarks on her first documentary determined to avoid portraying the city in folkloric clichés.
