Il Solengo

A group of elderly men meet together in a hunting lodge and recall the life of Mario “de Marcella”, a man who spent over sixty years of his life in a cave. Why he chose to live this solitary existence, no one knows. They refer to him as the “Solengo”, like the male boar who lives away from the herd. In the lodge, the hunters sit round the table telling tales about him. The once traditional ritual of oral storytelling is brought to life again by this generation of men who continue intrepidly to live off the land.
