In the universe of socialist realism, Xhanfize Keko’s 1981 film is the nearest one could get to a genre-bending, fiction-reality mash-up. Taking the cue from the anguish suffered by one of the child actors in her previous production Tomka and His Friends, Keko – lovingly known as “Aunt Xhano” – whips up a drama about gender parity at work and at home.
