Elodie, Laure and Soufiane. Two girls and a boy studying at the IUFM-a teaching college-are to have their first experience of being in charge of a class for four weeks. A real “start” to the new school year and to the profession they have chosen. They also have a real vocation, a sense of their responsibility to society. They have a class of their very own and, of course, try to be different… An initial question arises: What does one do? How does one react with strangers who are children? How can one usefully transmit knowledge and discover other human beings, however young they may be ? From lessons to breaktime, from tears to joy, from a coffee with the other teachers to anxious evenings at home, our three primary school teachers develop and change all through this experience.
