Vivre caché

Patrick Geay
1990 France 53 minutes French

Reine, Luce, Henriette – three women members of the Little Church, somewhere in the Vendeen woods. They are also known as the “dissidents” in their village. They, like three thousand other men and women, remain loyal to the cult of the Ancien Regime, worshipping without a priest like in the times of the clandestine church. The film also evokes the Vendeen wars two hundred years ago, when the region was bitterly divided and whole villages razed by the ” infernal columns”.
